Old Vicarage School – Interactive Workshops

Old Vicarage School

Interactive workshops, student engagement and amazing compositions. A day of percussion, chord progressions, CMPSR & musical exploration!

Details

Old Vicarage School is an independent primary school in Derbyshire. Working with 2 upper school classes, we explored electronic music making. Starting the day with an assembly to find out more about Digit Music, students worked with our music producer team to explore a range of sounds and instruments using our CMPSR instruments.

Students worked as an ensemble to make musical choices, build chord progressions, play percussion patterns and explore melody.  The day was then rounded out with a composition featuring all students.

Outcomes

  • Musical App exploration
  • Introduction to the sounds of East Africa via our Global Sound Culture: Kenya work packs.
  • Introduction to the music industry & working with professional artists.
  • Explored new ways of making music through technology – all students composed and performed at the end of the day.
  • Group Performances – In line with the plan for music education.
